Sex and the City Hits the Big Screen
March 13, 2008
The stars of the hit cable television series “Sex and the City” are hitting the big screen for their long-awaited reunion on film, but fans only have one question: what happens in the movie?
“Something major happens that fundamentally changes who Carrie is,” Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie, recently told LOGO’s NewNowNext.
The movie “doesn’t pick up right where the series ended” according to Parker, but rather “it’s a few years later…it’s so packed with stuff.”
Miranda Hobbes, played by Cynthia Nixon, “is still in Brooklyn, is still unhappy about it, and still advancing at her job, in her firm…Her son is thriving, but her marriage is kind of mmm - not doing so great,” she explains. “We are dealing with unfaithfulness, but even more than unfaithfulness, I think we are dealing with the daily grind that can take its toll on a relationship.”
And over-achiever Charlotte York Goldenblatt, who adopted a daughter, is “struggling to be a good mother” according to Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte.
As for the sexpot Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, when LOGO asked who has the most sex (in the film), she responded, “Guess!”
