Love, Action, Fantasy and Dance This Weekend in Theaters
Four new films are opening in wide release today, including the romantic comedy Definitely, Maybe, starring Ryan Reynolds as a soon-to-be-divorced father answering some tough questions from his daughter regarding his past relationships; the action-thriller Jumper, starring Hayden Christensen as a young man who can teleport anywhere,
a gift that he is being sought after; the family fantasy The Spiderwick Chronlices, starring Freddie Highmore as part of a family that uncovers the amazing truth of their new home, the Spiderwick estate, and the fantastic creatures that inhabit it; and the dance-teen film Step Up 2 The Streets, about a rebellious street dancer who finds herself fighting to fit in at an
elite dance school while also trying to hold onto her old life.
Also opening in select theaters is horror flick George A. Romero’s Diary of the Dead, about a group of unlucky film students that encounter real-life undead zombies while making their own horror movie in the woods; Me & You, Us, Forever, about a middle-aged man, on the other side of an unwanted divorce, who thinks back and reminisces about his first love of 30 years ago; and The Year My Parents Went on Vacation, set in 1970s Brazil, about a 12-year-old boy who is left by his parents to live in a strange and fun-filled Jewish/Italian neighborhood in Sao Paolo.
