J-Lo has twinsJennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony, who married in 2004, became the parents of twins, one boy and one girl, earlier today at a Long Island, New York, hospital, according to People magazine. The girl and boy, delivered in that order, weighed in at 5 pounds and 7 ounces, and 6 pounds, respectively.

Thirty-nine year old Anthony has a daughter and two sons from two previous relationships, and the twins are the first children for 38-year-old Lopez.

While there was much is she or isn’t she speculation, Lopez waited to confirm that she was indeed pregnant in early November 2007, when she announced the news to a Miami audience while on a concert tour with her husband.

“Marc and I are expecting a baby,” she told the crowd at American Airlines Arena. “We didn’t want to say anything before because we didn’t want to take away from the tour. This is a special time in our lives.”

There was still one surprise up Lopez’s sleeve, but her own father, David Lopez, stole her thunder when he announced she was expecting twins during his appearance on Spanish-language station TeleFutura’s “Escandalo TV.”
