Fox Network Dominates Nielsen, Sweeps
Fox hit the trifecta in ratings this past week of viewing (Feb. 11 through 17), earning a number one ranking in all key demographics, leading the adult (18 to 49) ratings race by a full point, and sweeping the top six slots in the top 10 shows watched that week. Both American Idol and The Moment of Truth also dominated all demographics and rank as numbers one, two and three programs of the week.
In addition, FOX ranked No. 1 for the week among Adults 18-34, Teens and Total Viewers.
The reality is that people love reality.
On Tuesday, the first night of the Hollywood Round of American Idol posted its highest ratings since its premiere in Adults 18 to 49 and Total Viewers. Week four of Moment of Truth won its 9 p.m. hour among Adults 18 to 49, Total Viewers, Adults 18 to 34/25 to 54, Teens, Women 18 to 49/18 to 34/2 to 54 and Men 18 to 49/18 to 34/25 to 54. Moment of Truth also remains the third-highest rated program of the season among Adults 18 to 49 and Adults 18 to 34 (behind only American Idol, and is the No. 1 new program of the season in Adults 18 to 49, Adults 18 to 34 and Total Viewers.
Rounding out the top 10 most watched shows last week, ABC took sixth and seventh place for a new episode of Lost and a repeat of the previous week’s episode of Lost immediately preceding the new episode. ABC’s Eli Stone was ranked number nine, and NBC’s American Gladiators was number 10.
FOX currently ranks No. 1 in the February 2008 sweeps with a 7.4/19 among Adults 18 to 49, followed by ABC (2.5/7), NBC (2.5/7), CBS (2.3/6) and The CW (0.9/2).
