Sri Mrityunjaya Maha Mantra
This Mrityunjaya Maha Mantra is a very powerful chant that I listen to before I do any Yoga practice. It simply means:
“We meditate on the Three-eyed reality which nourishes and increases the sweet fullness of life. Like a cucumber from its stem may we be separated (“liberated”), not from immortality but from death.”
Sahi’s first Yoga lesson
This morning I initiated Sahi into Yoga. We did a bit of relaxation, a bit of deep breathing and I taught her the basics of Surya Namaskar.
Sahi’s Evening Yoga Pose
Tomorrow is Sahi’s official first Yoga class. We were discussing the benefits of this and she started doing the meditative poses and humming OM! So cute!

A whole day of yoga reading
Sunday 16th January. For the first time in a number of years, today was a Tv-free day. After dinner with some friends, we slept late last (around 2pm) and woke around 9am today. My Sundays would usually consist of sitting in front of the TV watching my native language movies. But today during my morning coffee time reading I came upon a blog on yoga that was so interesting, I read it for most of the day and did not watch TV.
This blog ( http://earthyogi.blogspot.com/ ) is by Claudia on a type of Yoga practice called the “Astanga Yoga”. Even though my journey into Yoga has just began, Claudia’s blog was such a revelation. I love her writing style and read through scores of posts that were written so well, I could not stop reading.
2 hours into my reading, again for the first time in a number of years, I closed my eyes and was in semi sleep state for almost an hour. I would not call it medication but something akin to it.
Thank you Claudia… I am inspired and will continue my yogic journey with renewed vigor!
