Pregnant Jolie Pens Op-Ed
Activist Angelina Jolie, 32, wrote an op-ed article in The Washington Post newspaper yesterday urging the United States to help Iraqi refugees who have been displaced by the war. In her piece, titled “Staying to Help in Iraq”, the actress and goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees says, “American support is key to addressing the humanitarian crisis, which has displaced more than 4 million people.” She also notes that of the 2 million refugees within the country, 58 percent are younger then 12 years of age.

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry, 23, is a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, and has spent the last 10 weeks in the Helmand province of war-torn Afghanistan, this relayed from British army officials to People magazine.
Martian Child DVD Review
Martian Child stars John Cusack as David, a science-fiction writer and widower contemplating adopting a child, thus fulfilling his deceased wife’s wishes. His potential adoptee is Dennis (played by relative acting newcomer Bobby Coleman), a young, parentless, friendless outcast who tells everyone he’s from Mars, literally.

It seems all some people could talk about after the Oscars on Sunday night was the fact that Whoopi Goldberg was left out of a montage highlighting past hosts. For the record, Goldberg was the first female emcee, as well as the first African American, and she served as host in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002.

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch could be up for sale soon, this according to a San Francisco-based title company. The 2,500-acre property in Los Olivos, Calif., might be sold at a public auction scheduled for March 19 if Jackson doesn’t pony up the $24 million he still owes on the estate.

Fracture DVD Review
Gregory Hoblit’s film Fracture stars Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling as opposing forces in life and law. Hopkins plays Ted Crawford, a wealthy engineer with a beautiful trophy wife (played by Embeth Davidtz). Gosling is Willy Beachum, a hot-shot district attorney ready to move on to bigger and better things (a cushy job at a corporate law firm).
New Faces for “Dancing With the Stars”
Fresh faces abound on the new season of “Dancing With the Stars”, as there are not only new celebrities, but a new professional as well. New to the cast is mambo champion Fabian Sanchez. Returning favorites this season are two-time DWTS champs Cheryl Burke and Julianne Hough, as well as Edyta Sliwinska, the only pro to compete in all six seasons of the show.
Grants Awarded to Outstanding Young People in U.S.
Do Something, the national not-for-profit that makes it possible for teens to change the world, and Hopeless/Sub City Records’ Take Action! Tour awarded $500 grants recently to nine young people who want to make change in their communities.
